Coremly
Spell-check Software
Coremly is a new B2C online tool that helps users for streamlined and effective writing. It helps them to identify and substitute complicated writings with more comprehensive language structure, preventing repetitive sentences, and uphold precise spelling, punctuation, and grammar, supporting many languages.
With the advent of auto-correction platforms, users get dependant on auto-correction an a significant scale which leads to being unable to keep the precise form of the words spellings specifically in younger generation of users. The goal is to create an additional feature that helps to keep the spellings in mind with the minimum effort of the user.
Pain Points
- No feature to add errors and mistakes
- Hard to organise the files by topics, workspace, etc

UX Research
In this case study, I did a research on human brain function in memorising words spellings both in short-term and long-term memory. The advantage of careful pronunciations is especially great among low-ability spellers in their memory for letters performing a sound-symbolizing function in the careful pronunciation and how to integrate this function to text/check apps that reduces the dependancy on these platforms.
As the result of the research, human memory has higher function when it comes to the combination of both visual (readable text/types) and audio at the same time compared to each of them individually.
Responsive
As shown below, in the responsive version, an easy access to audio corrector with smooth interaction is set on the first priority along with the easy process to access main and sub categories.
My role
In this design project I tried to uncover insights and translate the concepts into feature which could address user’s behaviour.
- User Experience research - User Interface Design
Experience Strategy
I created wireframes and prototypes to share the core concept, design principles and content strategy.
The challenge
The main challenge was to create an effective feature to keep the spellings in mind, first in short-term memory and then long-term memory in a non-frustrating way.
Solutions
All the psychological research led to variant solutions as below:
- A feature that the user enables/ disables.
- An audio based user experience which makes the memorising with least effort.
- The combination of visual error accents with audio creates the maximum effect.
-
Organisable Folders
-
Audio Speller
-
Error History Backup
-
